Faith is deepened in the darkness of the questioning soul
In the shadows of the silent footsteps discerning life’s goal
Faith is deliberated in the uncertainty of unanswered prayer
In the holding on with frail fingertips when God is not there
Faith is drowned in the shallow pool of human unkindness
In the ambitions of the selfish motive of rabid senselessness
Faith is tested in the fire of human living when hope wanes
In the trails and tribulations as the heart is beset with pains
Faith is that guiding principle where hope flowers once again
In the faithfulness of God, transmitted to mortal fallible men
