Empty Spaces

Empty Spaces

Come back to me, fill these empty spaces
Allow me to remember long forgotten faces
Blurred figures crowd together in my mind
I search through them a familiar one to find
Memories clutch at the dawn of my morning
By evening they disappear without warning
Pain is now etched upon my confused visage
Recalling passing time as a cluttered collage
Smiling happy carefree moments flash by me
An epiphany, manifesting treasured memory
Watery eyes close to blank out this tiring day
Sleep arrives to refresh, to take anxiety away
If I forget your name do not give into alarm
Do not fright nor bring yourself to any harm
For I love you beyond what the mind can bear
I ache for your presence, to wrap you in care
Restoration comes when the journey is done
When all these empty spaces are finally gone
